In 45-55 Minutes on a Beach, cake mix is sprinkled, sifted and sorted on the surface of found and digitally altered photographs to simulate the sandy landscapes in the original images. The final arrangements are then re-photographed with the intention to flatten the distinction between the two elements–the original photograph and its three-dimensional alteration. The series touches upon the perception of materiality within images and through its content, engages in a dialogue of convenience vs. luxury.
